Frequently Asked Questions
1. How long have you been producing wedding videos?
Ans. Since 1981
2. What style of video is the most popluar?
Ans. Documentary. Because the subject is not always aware that we are even shooting
them, the visual tells a story.
3. I am getting married in Greensboro, North Carolina. Is there an extra
charge for traveling to this location?
Ans. Yes, mileage is charged at the rate of thirty cents (.30) per mile,
plus any out-of-pocket expenses.
4. What about out-of-state locations?
Ans. Yes, I am frequently out of state on assignment. The package rates
are the same. However, all air fare and hotel charges are at the expense
of the client. There is a meal per Diem of $35.00 per day, per person.
5. I noticed your demo reel did not last very long, can you tell me why?
Ans. I use a special promo reel that shows the type of work that we specialize
in. It is used in trade shows and mailed out to prospective clients so
the length is kept minimum. I have the right to use a client's name and
likeness in marketing efforts for my company. However, I do not have the
right to show a complete wedding without the client's permission. Should
you want to see a completely edited version, you have to request it and
I will obtain the proper authorization. This protects you from unauthorized
use of your wedding video.
6. I would like to have the un-edited tapes as well as the edited version,
is this possible?
Ans. Yes, the field tapes are available to you at a cost of $35.00 per
tape. We shoot them on mini DV,DV Cam, Beta SP, and DVC Pro. You will
not be able to play them on your typical VCR. We can dub them to a compatible
format for an additional charge.
7. Do you keep a copy of the wedding master?
Ans. Yes, I do keep a tape copy for a period of one year from the date
of the wedding. This is for your protection. It is available as a source
master for additional dubs, should you need them. You may purchase the
tape copy at any time for a charge of $35.00, or I can burn it to DVD
for a charge of $55.00.
8. What is the run time of a completely edited wedding video?
Ans. In almost all cases it is one hour or less.
9. Will the DVD you provide run on my DVD player?
Ans. Yes, in almost all cases. However, there are some older players that
will not play the newer DVD's.
10. Is the depsit refundable?
Ans. No, as with all businesses that deal with the wedding industry, we
hold the date for you on an exclusive basis and we turn down all other
clients on that date. I do suggest that you take out insurance for your
protection.
11. What is the most important thing a bride and groom can do to insure
they get what they expect from the producer?
Ans. Communications! Talk to the producer and discuss what you would like
to see and what you expect.
